Ingredients for Simple Syrup
1 cup water
1 cup granulated sugar
Ingredients for Tart Cherry Beer Slushy
2 cups frozen, pitted cherries
1 cup ice cubes
1 cup sour beer
¼ cup fresh lime juice, plus more to taste
2 tbsp simple syrup
Lime wheel for garnish, optional
Simple Syrup (makes enough for 8 slushies)
In a small pot, bring water and sugar to a gentle boil, stirring until sugar is dissolved, about 1 to 2 minutes. Remove from heat and cool before using. Leftover simple syrup will last in the fridge in an airtight container for about a month.
Tart Cherry Beer Slushy
Add frozen cherries, ice cubes, sour beer, lime juice and simple syrup to a blender. Blend until slushy, about 15 seconds. Taste and stir in a little more lime juice if needed. Pour into a Mason jar or large glass, garnish with a lime wheel and serve immediately with a straw.
