A native of Toronto, Mark began his career as a student of history, completing both Bachelors and Masters degrees in that field. But, while enjoying a year abroad in Germany, Mark discovered the wines of the Mosel Valley and was struck by their beauty and reflection of place. And after working for several years with a boutique agent, he decided to take his passion for wines and create a unique por

tfolio that drew on his love of the story behind each wine and the way it intimately reflected the context of its origin. Launching Context Wines Inc in 2016, Mark seeks out wines he loves, focusing on Italy and France, but with an eye towards other great wine regions of the world. Mark believes that a wine portfolio is indicative of the person or people who created it and, like them, a constant work in progress.
