Founded by Filippo Rizzo and his wife Nancy, this tiny estate has earned a big reputation. A former chef and early natural wine advocate in Belgium, Filippo returned to his familyโs homeland to farm and make wine without compromise. Tucked into a remote corner of southern Catania province, Lamoresca is the only winery for milesโjust 4 hectares under vine, all worked by hand.
Early on, Filippo spent time on Mount Etna with Frank Cornelissen, a friendship that helped inspire Lamorescaโs raw, soulful approach. Today, he and his son Simon produce expressive reds, zesty whites, and energetic skin-contact winesโwild-fermented, low-intervention, and full of Sicilian character.
