The first time I saw a Tawny was when I was just a whippersnapper playing a round of golf at Echunga in the Adelaide Hills. I saw a pair in a tree and remember being totally amazed by their stillness and branch like appearance. Since then I have seen many more and each encounter is special. Given their remarkable ability to camouflage themselves this pin provided an interesting challenge. Here’s a bit of humpy trivia to help you wind down with on Hump Day. The Ghan is the name of the train that runs between Adelaide, Alice Springs and Darwin. It was named after Afghan cameleers who supplied the remote regions of Central Australia and who also helped to construct the railway line.
