If you are heading down to Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit tomorrow for day 2 of the ASBK - Australian Superbikes, be sure to drop in a say hello to Hartwell committee member Jim Agombar. Jim usually rides around all the Hartwell meetings on his 250 and 400, but he's back on a superbike after many years, giving it a crack in the Superbike Masters on the T&K Carney supported Period 6 1989 FZR1000.

Jim only rode this bike for the first time this morning, his second session was Qualifying and he put it on row 4 in P12. With race 1 late this afternoon, Jim brought it home in P11 with a respectable time of 1:47.9, in a big field of 30 superbikes!

In case you missed the news, Hartwell Motorcycle Club is now part of the Interclub Road Racing Series Victoria with our members able to enter the upcoming race day at Broadford next Sunday 11th August.

The Saturday practice is run by Champion's Ride Days, you'll find the direct links to enter from our event page below.

Interclub is a great day of racing, you can race for your club in the Team Shield races and represent Hartwell along the way. Get on board guys, entries close on the 9th.

It is with great sadness to hear of the passing of Graeme Laing. The Hartwell Motorcycle Club committee and members wish to express their condolences to the entire Laing family at this difficult time, and to son Scott who continues Graeme's passion of motorcycles.

For those that knew Graeme, he will be greatly missed from the entire road racing community and in particular his involvement with the Sandringham Motorcycle Club for over 60 years.

We will share memorial service details when known, and pay respect to a wonderful man who leaves an amazing legacy to the racing community.

Hartwell joins Interclub Road Racing Series!

Great news for our members...Hartwell has been invited to join the Victorian Interclub Road Racing Series, as a promoting club and supporting this great event that has a long history of road racing in Victoria.

This is excellent timing, as it fits right in between our club series and seniors events so jump on board, enter as a Hartwell member and go racing in August.

We would like to thank the Interclub committee for inviting Hartwell Motorcycle Club to join in the fun and we look forward to seeing our members attend the event on Sunday August 11th.

Once we are set-up on Interclub's Ridernet, we will share the event details so you can enter...stay tuned!

Shout out to Varis Fleming, Hartwell member, who raced this last weekend with a wildcard ride in the WorldSBK Supersport300 Championship.

Varis is racing in the 2024 Spanish SBK series, ESBK – Campeonato de España de Superbike, and is based out of Aragón.

Cool stuff Varis, great to see you on the world stage!

Applications now now open for the 2025 Sport Australia Hall of Fame Scholarship, awarded to young elite athletes on their journey to excellence and success on the international stage.

Angus Grenfell Racing #36, Jacob Roulstone #12 and Tom Toparis Racing are current and former beneficiaries of the program, and now the process of selecting a new wave of 2025 recipients has commenced, with a total of $150,000 in funding to be awarded across 32 athletes.

Competitors across all motorcycle racing disciplines are encouraged to nominate.
