Eyrie Vineyards, pioneered by David Lett in 1965, revolutionised Oregon's wine industry by planting the first Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vines in the Willamette Valley. The winery's name pays homage to the red-tailed hawks inhabiting the vineyard's fir tree.

Eyrie's Pinot Noir placed top 10 in the 1975 Wine Olympics, challenging global perceptions of American wines. Notably, in a rematch organised by Burgundian vintner Robert Drouhin, Eyrie's Pinot Noir narrowly missed victory, solidifying its place among elite wines, marking Eyrie's enduring legacy in winemaking history.

From year to year they adapt their winemaking to the vintage using traditional techniques. They have great grapes and a wonderful supporting cast of cellar organisms to keep everything fresh, so why not play around with new ideas?!

How many winemakers in the south of France can claim to be amongst France’s greatest? Laurent Vaillé is definitely one of them – attaining his “cult wine” status where the odds were all against him.

Trained by acclaimed winemakers, he settled in Languedoc's challenging terrain in '89. Despite tough limestone soil, his vision unearthed a unique terroir. With meticulous vineyard care and low yields, the Vaillé family cultivates a mere 2,500-3,000 cases yearly, crafting what's hailed as France's finest wine—a harmonious blend of power, freshness, and enduring taste.
