CORK Boutique Wines Curating wine geeks & taking the guesswork out of discovering new boutique wines... Let us take the guesswork away so you can focus on the fun stuff.

Here at Cork, we’re all about putting the spotlight on the little guys, as we too are the little guys and wish to remain so, yet also aiming to make a big impact in the industry. We started on this journey not to gather hundreds of thousands of customers, but to share our passion for delicious and obscure wines which are not readily available everywhere. Our hope is for wine lovers to expand their

horizons and drink out of their comfort zone. Let us show you wines you may never have heard of or never even thought of trying. Our key focus is to bring you great quality wines made by boutique and quality minded producers. We will never stock anything we wouldn’t be happy to drink ourselves. Our preference will always favour wines produced using sustainable, organic or biodynamic practices, whether the winery is certified or non certified (yet still practising these methods). As a company, we (like our producers) will always strive to be as eco-friendly as possible, which includes using recyclable & compostable packaging. Follow our journey across socials and keep up to date with us as we uncork some of the worlds best wines, available to you.

On this week's blog, we introduced the topic of sustainable, organic, and biodynamic wines.

🍇🏞️ Wine of the Week: 2022 Domaine Gramenon Côtes du Rhône 'Sierra du Sud' 🍷🇫🇷

In 1990, Michelle and her husband Philippe established the winery, complete with ancient vineyards boasting 100+ year old vines. Tragically, in 1999, Philippe's life was cut short in a hunting accident. Devastated yet determined, Michelle continued the winemaking tradition, following her husband's blueprint in the vineyards and the winery.

Michelle, with neither Philippe's reputation nor experience, persevered. Over the vintages, she developed a unique style, producing finer, more layered wines. Assisted by her son Maxime-Francois, who returned from his schooling and work experience in Burgundy, Michelle farms the vineyards organically and applies careful, natural handling in the winery. The wines reflect a quality of effortless elegance and exquisite balance.

🍷 Tasting Note: 'Sierra du Sud' enchants with vibrant red fruit, subtle spice, and a lingering, graceful finish. This wine promises to evolve elegantly with a bit more time in the bottle.

Welcome to Cork's Thirsty Thursday, where we're always on the hunt for the finest wines from around the globe. And let me tell you, we've got a real gem for you today.

The 2017 Picardy Merlot Cabernet Sauvignon Cabernet Franc is a testament to the Pannell family's legendary winemaking skills. Bill and Sandra Pannell, the trailblazers behind the iconic Moss Wood vineyard and winery, established Picardy back in '95 with their son Dan.

Nestled in the cooler climate region of Pemberton, this wine is all about finesse and elegance. It's got just the right amount of age on it and it's drinking beautifully right now. But don't be fooled – this wine has got plenty of years left in it yet.

The structure and acid are in perfect balance, making this wine an absolute pleasure to drink. But here's a pro tip – pair it with some delicious food, and you'll take the enjoyment to the next level, you won't be disappointed. Cheers!

Did you know?

Cork-sealed wine bottles should be stored horizontally to keep the cork moist and prevent contamination. For best results, store wine in a cool, dark place at around 15 degrees Celsius to avoid damage from heat and UV light.
