The Kelvin Collaboration series is a signature release from Four Gate and looks to showcase their close relationship with Kelvin Cooperage. Releasing every year just before the Kentucky Derby, this is the fifth release in the series and highlights the capability of Four Gate when it comes to sourcing, blending and finishing.
This particular batch sees Four Gate blend together 7, 8 and 9 year Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskeys. The 7 and 8 year share the same mash bill of 74% corn, 20% rye, and 5% malted barley, and the 9 year uses 78% corn, 10% rye and 12% Malted Barley. The blend is then finished in two different casks, an Australian Mariposa Sherry and a Añejo Dark Rum. The release yielded a total of 4,802 bottles and is now available through Honey Barrel.
The feedback we have received in Australia so far has been fantastic, with the Collaboration V being a standout for many in 2023. It’s a credit to Four Gate that they can blend three different Bourbons, finish them twice and create a product as good as this. It’s a complex, bold Whiskey that we believe offers something for all whiskey drinkers and we are excited to hear what you think!

Oak, crème bruleé, molasses, dark stone fruits, chocolate & baking spices
