🍷✨ A Night to Remember ✨🍴

Italian wine. Italian food. Great company.
Three ingredients that, when combined, create pure magic. 💫

We started with a class on Barbera d’Asti and Barbera d’Alba — side by side, soil by soil, sip by sip. 🍇
The clay and sands of Asti, the ancient marls of Langhe... a true journey beneath our feet and into our glasses. 🌎

The class ended, but the energy didn’t.
Twelve of us, still buzzing with joy, wandered into a nearby trattoria — simple, welcoming, perfect. 🤍
No tablecloths. No fuss. Just wine, food, and friendship filling the air.

First pour: a magnum of Barone Ricasoli 2019 Chianti Classico Riserva. 🍷
Ruby red, lively, fragrant with spices and red fruit, wrapped in elegance and strength.
Vitello tonnato, peach and goat cheese salad, ocean trout carpaccio… 🍑🐟🍞
Each bite met each sip like a verse meets a melody.

Then, a surprise: Tenuta Sella 2011 Lessona was opened. 🍒🌸
Nebbiolo and Vespolina — salty, vibrant, vertical.
Pairing Lessona with seafood and Parmigiana? Unexpected — and unforgettable. ✨

And just when we thought it couldn’t get better…
A magnum of Masseria Li Veli Susumaniello 2022 arrived. 🌺🌌
Dark fruits, floral whispers, sweet spices, creamy texture, evolving every minute.
A wine that danced with the night.

It wasn’t just a dinner. It was a memory.
Wine, food, laughter, and hearts full of life. 🥂

Grazie to everyone who shared this special night — and to La Disfida for making us feel at home. 🇮🇹

Because at the end of the day, wine is about more than taste — it’s about feeling alive together.
Smile. Wine. Food. Friendship. Love. ❤️

From a week end wine tasting at the shop

Broccardo 2017 Bricco San Pietro vs. Paiagallo

Broccardo Barolo 2017 – Bricco San Pietro (Monforte d’Alba)
This wine reveals the elegant, floral soul of Nebbiolo grown on the calcareous-clay slopes of Monforte d’Alba. The nose opens with delicate scents of dried rose petals, violets, and red berries, underpinned by a subtle minerality. On the palate, it showcases finesse and vibrancy – a truly “approachable” expression of Barolo. The tannins are fine-grained and sweet-textured, offering a silky structure balanced by a refreshing acidity. Notes of blood orange peel and savoury herbs swirl through the lingering finish, leaving a graceful and lifted impression. This is a wine of poise and precision, ready to enchant in its youth but with the bones to age.

Broccardo Barolo 2017 – Paiagallo (Barolo)
From the clay-rich soils of Barolo village, the Paiagallo MGA offers a more austere and powerful interpretation of Nebbiolo. The bouquet leans into darker, more brooding territory: dried cherries, to***co leaf, earthy spices, and a whisper of leather. There’s a commanding presence on the palate—more structured and assertive, with robust tannins that grip and hold. Despite its weight, it remains balanced, with a deep savoury core and notes of bitter orange and black tea lingering on the finish. This is a wine built for longevity—resolute, masculine, and unapologetically classic.

Side by side, these two Barolos speak volumes about terroir. Bricco San Pietro charms with elegance and linearity, while Paiagallo impresses with depth and gravity. A perfect study in contrast, both expressions are a tribute to the nuanced artistry of site-specific winemaking

Stunning weekend at Italian Wine Cellars with the three pillars: Barolo, Brunello, and Amarone 🍷

The Barolo line-up featured two MGA side by side — the fragrant and approachable Bricco San Pietro, with its limestone-clay soils, and the robust, firmer Paiagallo, rooted in deeper clay terrain 🪨.

For Brunello, Poggio Scudieri provided an elegant, easy-drinking introduction to the appellation, while La Magia offered more complexity and impressive length 🌿✨.

Amarone was equally intriguing — Astoria delivered a balanced, slightly sweet profile that paired beautifully with spicy dishes, while the 2015 Corte Saibante demanded a more structured pairing, revealing remarkable finesse and savoury depth 🍇🔥.

A truly wonderful experience with amazing feedback all around!
Don’t miss next week’s tasting: Barbera d’Alba and Barbera d’Asti — come and become a true connoisseur of this incredible grape! 🍷🇮🇹

Two Years of Italian Wine Cellars Drummoyne
In the heart of Drummoyne, something beautiful has been growing —
a little shop filled with laughter, friendship, and connection.

Two years ago, we opened our doors with a passion for Italian wine and a dream to create a space where people feel welcome, seen, and celebrated. Today, we look back with full hearts.

Because at the core of every business, there should be a heartbeat ❤️
And here, it’s not just one or two — it’s the many hearts of everyone who has stepped inside, shared a story, raised a glass 🍷, or simply smiled in support.

We thank you. We love you. We are deeply grateful.
Here’s to community, to wine, and to the next chapter — together.

Venezia Giulia, Juliska Krajina… a land of many names, histories, and hands. ❤️ A place of shared love and hardship, shaped by Roman grandeur, wars, and shifting borders. Yet, its winemakers stand firm, their eyes reflecting passion for their craft. 🍇✨

Today, we celebrate Collio and Tamara. If people tell stories, wine narrates them. 🍷 In every glass of Damijan, you taste the land, the style, and the essence of true wine.

From the aromatic Friulano 🍑 to the spicy Malvasia Istriana 🌿, the vibrant Ribolla Gialla ⚡, and their masterful blend, these wines break conventions, inviting thoughtful conversation. 🍽️🗣️

Some wines talk about themselves. Great wines let those who drink them find the words. 💭

If you see these labels, stop, pick one up, and toast 🥂 to those who protect an extraordinary legacy.

Thank you, Damijan. Thank you, Tamara. ❤️ .podversic

The Woman in Wine is no longer just a woman in her most human and earthly form—she becomes Art and Experience. She is represented in countless ways on wine labels and in descriptions: “a feminine wine, elegant, seductive...”

Today, we celebrate women as Art, as a divine experience, and as an expression of wine itself. A woman, like wine, is not confined to one colour—she is white, she is red, she is everything in between. She embodies a thousand styles—elegant, refined, sparkling, still.

But today is not the only day we celebrate women. Every day, women bring richness and depth to life, just as they do to wine.

To all the women who have walked through our doors, to those who haven’t, and to those who will simply read this post—today is for you.

Cheers to you, beautiful woman.

😍🍷 What if wine had no past, present, or future, just an eternal moment in your glass?

🍇 Scarpa Winery defies time, where modern craftsmanship meets the echoes of history. Each sip is a paradox: a hundred years of passion, frozen in the now. The earth, the people, the hands that once tended the vines, they’re all there, whispering through the aromas of fruit and spice.

Close your eyes. Take a sip. Are you tasting the past, or the future?

Tag a friend who loves wine with a soul. 🍇💫
