A very exiciting addition to a powerhouse of the WA wine industry and champions of organic and biodynamic farming and winemaking .

The Metricuop Chardonnay 2024 is brand spanking new and is a welcomed addition to our store! From an organic Metricup vineyard, currently converting to fully biodynamic as well, fitting well the the Cullen Vineyard ethos and practices.

The wine is different in style to the Kevin John in that it’s a new world, old world wine. Emulating the Chablis style of Chardonnay wine making with a small touch of oak and cool fermentation to make the wine a fruit driven style.

Floral and inviting fruit notes of the nose of nectarines, nashi pear, quince and citrus. With a moreish combination soft salinty, minerality and rich stonefruit, pear and citrus curd on the palate. An excellent wine and exciting new adventure from Cullen.

The label is a nod to the presence and influence of the ocean on Margaret River vineyards and winemaking, and we think a wink at the wine itself!

At $50 this wine is a serious must have for any Chardonnay lover, will only get better in the bottle but ready to drink as a fresher style!

New in-store a delectable duo from one of our favorite local small batch producers that recently landed in store. Youve loved the Slippy Rouge, Bitsa Rose, Liquid Amber and Chilled red, now say hello to The Might of The Purple Moon and the Float Free!

Notes from the winemakers (wines left to right):

- The Might of the Purple Moon 2023: “Pinot noir! From Manjimup! A very exciting and very limited side release from our usual Margs business. 2023 fruit from good friend James Kordic’s family block, newly reinvigorated after a number of fallow years. Four day maceration straight to an ex-Chardonnay barrel for 11 months undisturbed elevage. A tiny touch of sulfur for transport, nil other adds/subtractions. Banging.”

- Float Free 2022: “Probably the most serious wine we’ve made, lithe and delicious home block Cabernet with a touch of Merlot. The free run from our 2022 vintage floatation system, this went straight to seasoned puncheon for 13 months. Bottled with nothing added or taken away, from certified organic-in-conversion fruit, serious and clean.”

Like the sun shining through the wintery clouds comes the new & releases! From this amazing Geelong and Irrewarra based vineyards the new Farr family wine releases have styles and wines suited for every palate and budget. Priding themselves on their vineyard management and wine making (inspired by burgundy) the Farr family have ensured these releases are a must have. We have two whites from the 2023 vintage, which show youthful elegance and vibrancy. As well as 6 reds from the amazing 2022 vintage, showing the quality of the winemaking, vineyard and vintage. We’re thrilled to have just received in our latest Living Wines shipment. To start we want to the amazing Sextant wines from winemakers Carole Schwab and Julien Altaber. Based out of Beaune, they source their fruit from biodynamic/organically managed terroirs and vineyards from all over the Burgundy region, exhibiting great varietals from their respective subregions.

The 2022 vintage has to be the most exciting to come out of Burgundy and its adjacent regions for the last few years. The consistency and freshness of the wines produced in this vintage have been deemed and “encouraging success”, considering the precious years severe weather conditions. That being said were delighted to have following wines from this great producer;

2021 Bachelor Shiraz has all the hallmarks of great value Barossa Shiraz. From an incredible winery and vintage the wine has big notes of raspberry and red plum on the nose. A layered and complex palate with spice and ripe tanins.

This wine took out the trophy for the best SA Shiraz at the 2023 Saint Martin Oak, Great Australian Shiraz Challenge as well as;

- 98 points and best 2021 Shiraz aat the 2024 winewise championship, and;
- 95 points for wine showcase magazine!

The latest range of our Tasting Panel recommended wines are flying off the shelves. The goal this time was to present a range of wines that suits the autumn season, and thankfully thats finally arrived.

These first six wines present exceptional value and quality with complexity and length that will appeal to any red wine drinker. They will reward some breathing/decanting and even some more cellaring, but who has time for that? Great on their on and even better compliments to red meat and hearty dishes. With over 40 wines blind tasted this is what our judges scored as some of the top wines (in no particular scoring order);

Its officially red season and Pannell Family Pinot Noir is back just in time for it! From the stellar 2022 vintage, this secondary wine label from the amazing has all the hallmarks of the prestigious, family owned Pemberton winery.

”Opening up with beautiful floral notes and summer fruits, with bright, slightly candied cherries, earthy undertones and a hint of five spice driving the palate.
The quality of tannins, balance of the wine and purity of fruit are impeccable at this price point: often a difficult one at which to find quality Pinot Noir.”

All the wines were tasted blind and all presented exceptional quality for their price points. Here is part 1 of the finalists, the wines left to right:In Praise of Shadows 2022 Grenache: This wine was the standout of the varietals bracket. The wine showcases a vibrant profile, characterized by flavors of spiced cherry, thyme, sage, and maraschino. It exudes a nervy intensity, complemented by soft tannins that weave through layers of savory and complex fruit, resulting in a truly captivating and sophisticated experience. Vegan friendly wine.Willow Bridge 2022 GSM: WA GSM is making waves, and this wine from willow bridge had us talking. The palate comes alive with vibrancy, as medium-bodied freshly crushed blackberry shines through, accompanied by a comforting presence of licorice, plum, and a hint of vanilla spice, all working together harmoniously to create a truly enjoyable wine.Rosily 2021 The Cartogrpaher: From a distinguished Margaret River winery.
