Dee’s Angels & Car-B-Cue
This was an idea that myself, my ex wife and my eldest sister had, but originally it was a speedway car mock up (looked and sounded like a speedway car, just not raced) but with the loss of my sister Denise (we called her Dee) on the 20/5/2016, the project stopped, but the birth of the team Dee’s Angels came to be. The team consists of family and friends who knew Dee.
After a year and a half myself, my ex wife and kids decided that the project must go on. we had it under control until the motor gave up, with assistance from me, so the motor either had to be fixed or gone. Until that was decided, the project once again went on hold. Thank goodness one day, after a BBQ we got home and pulled in the driveway at home and looking at this sad looking commodore, it was like a switch went off in my wifes head and mine at the same time and we said “why not put a BBQ in the motor bay?” After about a week we had a BBQ donated to us, and people lining up to assist in some way possible.
After the motor was out, splash of color and the BBQ went in, my eldest daughter said “because its a car and it has a BBQ in it, can we call it Car-B-Cue?”
From that day on it was know as Car-B-Cue. Relay for life was about to have a new thing for BBQ’s and we were lucky enough to have it and to top it off we had the Relay for life legal teams blessing to do so.
